Ages of teens involved in fatal crash Saturday reported incorrectly by sheriff’s office, crews called back Firth fire for flare up
On Saturday 09-03-2016 at 0642 hours, the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a one vehicle roll over at 950 South 2600 West just off of Highway 39. When officers arrived on scene and during the investigation it was determined that a female juvenile age 16 was killed in the crash. It was also determined that two juvenile males ages 16 and 14 were also in the vehicle. The Bingham County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this crash.
It was reported that the two males were ages 17 but this information was not correct. I have corrected their ages in this press release. The investigating officer will be doing a search warrant today for the cars computer black box and there may be further information released once that is done.
Information about the fire in Firth is that a pumper truck was called out this morning for a flare up so the Firth Fire Department has been dispatch to take care of that.
Chubbuck police report that attempted child abduction was a false report
Advisory: Unfounded Report
This morning we received a report from a child stating that a male tried to get her into his car while she was at the bus stop in Chubbuck. We were able to determine that the events the child was describing were not true and did not happen as the child had originally stated.
We feel it is important to get this information out to the public to put everyone’s minds at ease, and to assure the public that we take reports of this nature very serious.
It is also a good reminder to keep an eye on our children and encourage them to travel to and from the bus in groups whenever possible.
